About the UFL
The United Football League (UFL) is the premier spring football platform, formed by the merging of the XFL and USFL in 2024 under the combined ownership of RedBird Capital Partners, FOX, Dany Garcia and Dwayne Johnson. The UFL has eight teams in Arlington (TX), Birmingham (AL), Detroit (MI), Houston (TX), San Antonio (TX), Memphis (TN), St. Louis (MO), and Washington D.C.
About the Role
The VP, Brand Strategy and Solutions will play a key role in helping the UFL achieve its ambition of becoming one of the most innovative sports leagues in the US for commercial partners. This individual will harness the massive opportunity to create valuable and unique platforms for our brand partners by working across league functions, as well as with our broadcast partners. The focus for this position is on National Partnerships however, due to the UFL’s unique ownership structure, where the league and teams are all one entity, there is an opportunity to look at partnerships differently than more established leagues. The UFL is looking for someone who wants to make a mark on the industry by redefining sports partnerships, creating lasting platforms for partners and creating industry buzz around the great work.
Specific Duties
- Oversee the creative development, sales positioning and introduction of new sponsor assets and platforms for all UFL commercial partners
- Embody a spirit of creativity and share in the vision that emphasizes the unique potential and differentiation that the UFL offers in the marketplace
- Quickly develop a detailed knowledge of all assets across the UFL, the UFL’s 8 teams, broadcast partners, UFL Marketing, UFL Creative & Content, Football Operations and more - so you can begin to develop areas of opportunity for existing and new brand partners
- Work with Business Development team and other internal stakeholders to balance key priorities and areas of focus
- Travel to take part in high-priority client presentations where ideation is critical to relationship
- Consistently meet with Creative & Content, as well as Marketing leads to ensure total alignment on league messaging and content pipeline monetization opportunities
- Maintain highest level of communication with internal teams pertaining to new concepts being presented and
- Utilize ideation, exceptional writing and presentation design skills to articulate concepts for proposals and client presentations
- Work with Revenue Strategy lead to find and develop new areas for creativity and monetization
- Partner with commercial leadership on annual business planning and growth analysis
- Maintain awareness of trends and innovations in sports and entertainment industry
