Overview
The MLS Consumer Products department seeks a Sr. Coordinator to manage aspects of licensing and retail marketing. This person will work alongside leaders within Consumer Products. This role offers administrative support as well as communication and follow-ups with internal teams and external partners.
The MLS Consumer Products team is responsible for the licensing business, e-commerce, and retailer relationships, supporting on-field equipment needs for MLS clubs and the relationship with Electronic Arts. Video gaming and emerging digital products related to AR, VR, Blockchain and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) represent key growth opportunities for the league.
The Sr. Coordinator will work closely in a highly collaborative role with the Consumer Products team across licensing, retail development, on-field, and gaming. The Sr. Coordinator will play a critical role in support of managing and growing the Licensing business. The candidate will work in the day-to-day Adobe system product submissions and approvals, build and maintain seasonal product decks, ticketing and hospitality coordination. Function will also include Consumer Product and League event support such as Summits, All Star Game, FMF retail, and Leagues Cup. The Sr. Coordinator will support Consumer Products across each vertical; licensing, retail development, gaming, and ad hoc projects ensuring MLS is set for growth heading to the 2026 World Cup and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Meeting scribe, executive recaps, and brand deck writing abilities used to inform broader Consumer Products group and leadership with clear and concise next steps
- Manage the Accounts Receivable process, including royalty report request, contract rights, and revenue due. Responsible for marketing invoices, quarterly royalty invoicing, and Finance communication.
- Coordinate product, packaging, and marketing commitment working with licensees and retail partners
- Create and maintain product information for all licensees including line lists, timelines, and product photography assets
- Assist with brand marketing support including on-line and social media
- Ensure product lines are on time from Licensees and meeting sell-in and PO deadlines
- Active role in quarterly Newsletter and Seasonal Look Book
- Conduit with event team for annual Consumer Product Summit
- Coordination of product development calendars, seasonal line reviews, quality assurance procedures, and retail marketing materials
- Daily product approval submission process and support platform updates
- Working with our legal department for specimen collection and trademark protection and OpSec reports
- Support Gaming and Collectibles business and activations throughout the season with partners such as EA, Topps, and Fanatics
- Manage and coordinate Consumer Products ticketing, hospitality, and gifting for tentpole events with League events team
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
- Ability to travel (10-20%) and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
